Welcome message from Koji Omi, Founder and Chairman, STS forum

We are now facing an unprecedented global crisis with the COVID-19 pandemic. This pandemic has not only curtailed free movement of people but even international collaboration in science and technology. I believe that the role of science and technology in the COVID-19 and post COVID-19 era will grow ever more crucial and hope that you would all agree that the importance of a forum such as ours will expand accordingly. I trust that your discussions will lead to great breakthroughs in science and technology to pave the way for a brighter future for humankind.

The 17th Annual Meeting of the STS forum was held Live Online from a base studio in Kyoto. Short pre-recorded presentations from each speaker were made available in prior to the event, and the discussions at the actual sessions were conducted based on these pre-recorded statements. Questions from the audience were answered during each session, but some remaining questions were answered post-event, with the support of session chairs and speakers.
The pre-recorded presentations, session broadcast and the follow-up Q&A are available within the program below.
